“Modern Family” (9 p.m., ABC). The whole fan-damily heads for Hawaii for Jay’s birthday. Airport hijinks ensue.

“Cougar Town” (9:30 p.m., ABC). Jules and Grayson (geez, who names these characters?) try to be “friends with benefits.” Because that always works like a charm.

“Top Chef Masters” (10 p.m., Bravo). The eight finalists have to cater a wedding. I guess it’s like Restaurant Wars in regular ‘Top Chef.”

“America’s Next Top Model” (8 p.m., The CW). Crazy Tyra plays photographer during a “Lord of the Rings”-themed shoot. I wanna see them all made up like orcs.

“MythBusters” (9 p.m., Discovery). The gang once again tries to knock the socks off Buster.

“Worst-Case Scenario” (10 and 10:30 p.m., Discovery). Series premiere. Bear Grylls stars is this new series based on the handy survival guide. Tonight you’ll learn how to escape a burning vehicle, survive a boating accident, avoid a downed powerline and a survive a dog attack.

“In Plain Sight” (10 p.m., USA). Mary helps a former bank robber stay out of trouble.

“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” (12:35 a.m., NBC). Check out musical guests the New Pornographers. They rock.
