Watch it

“Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” (8 p.m., CBS). Season premiere. I dare say, this may be more entertaining than NBC’s comedies tonight. The 20th season kicks off with a 2-hour all-star edition, so look for the scheming and backstabbing to get into high gear right from the get-go. Among the returnees: Boston Rob, Evil Russell, Coach, Colby and Rupert.

“Burn Notice” (10 p.m., USA). Look who’s back in town: Michael’s deadbeat brother and his arch enemy Larry (Tim Matheson). And there’s still a certain freelance sociopath to deal with. By the way, how cool is Tim Matheson? Whoever thought the dude from “Animal House” would grow up to be such a good, creepy bad guy?

Record it

“Parks and Recreation” (8:30 p.m., NBC). As a Valentine’s gift, Leslie tracks down her mom’s long-lost love, played by John Larroquette. A dollar says it goes awry. I love Larroquette, he’s an underappreciated comic gem.

“The Office” (9 p.m., NBC). If it didn’t have such a strong history, I’d drop this show. But I’ll watch out of habit. Besides, if you don’t record it, you’ll miss the last 30 seconds of “Parks and Recreation.” Tonight, Sabre CEO Kathy Bates visits the office and decides two managers is one too many. Good, Jim sucked as a manager anyway.

“30 Rock” (9:30 p.m., NBC). It’s a guest-star bonanza: Jon Hamm is back as Liz’s too-good-to-be-true boyfriend, Elizabeth Banks steals Jack’s heart, and Jon Bon Jovi appears as himself. Oh, and funny things happen. Like Liz scheduling a root canal to avoid Valentine’s Day.

“Modern Marvels” (8 p.m., History). A look at the high tech behind the Winter Olympics. You wouldn’t believe the science that goes into bobsleds. No, seriously, it’s kinda fascinating.

“Archer” (10 p.m., FX). Cyril worries when Lana and Archer go on assignment together to the South of France. (And so do Malory and her KGB boyfriend — ick.)

“Project Runway” (10 p.m., Lifetime). A fashion magazine cover is up for grabs and — surprise — designers’ egos clash.

Say goodbye

“American Chopper” (9 p.m., TLC). The series finale as the Tuetel clan parts ways. Paul Jr. has his own business now and he and his father are involved in a nasty lawsuit. Too bad, this was a pretty entertaining show in its heyday.

Game of the night

College basketball: St Mary’s at Gonzaga (8 p.m., ESPN2). A battle for first place in the WCC. USF beat the Zags, why not the Gaels?

Skip it

“Past Life” (9 p.m., Fox). A woman has visions that could free a man from death row. Yeah, because psychic visions are admissible in court. If you like the cheesy supernatural mystery genre, you’re so much better off with “Medium.”
