Hope you hadn’t gotten used to fresh episodes; it’s mostly a lineup of reruns tonight. Blame the president’s State of the Union address (6 p.m. on the major networks and cable news channels).

Watch it

“American Idol” (8 p.m., Fox). Meh, lame, but there’s nothing else on. Neil Patrick Harris is a guest judge, so that could be worth watching.

“Man vs. Wild” (9 p.m., Discovery). Bear Grylls rappels into an active volcano in Guatemala and scampers around ancient Mayan ruins.

“Being Erica” (10 p.m., Soap). I’ve heard this is a decent import from Canada, and since there’s not a lot else on, it might be a good time to check it out. It’s been described as “Felicity” meets “Quantum Leap,” where this woman gets transported back through time by her magical therapist to fix mistakes of her past. Tonight she goes back to summer camp. Ehhh, why not?

UPDATE: “Spectacle: Elvis Costello with…” (10 p.m., Sundance). Oops, forgot about this one . Tonight’s the season finale, the second of a two-parter with Bruce Springsteen. Should be cool.

Record it

“Psych” (10 p.m., USA). Season premiere. The breezy comedy/mystery is back; tonight the guys investigate a soldier’s suicide that may really be a murder.

“Leverage” (10 p.m., TNT). The gang has to team up with their nemesis to bust out Nate’s wife from a Ukrainian prison.

“Steven Seagal: Lawman” (10 p.m., A&E). A hostage-rescue drill is performed at a sheriff’s department picnic. Of course! You hear “picnic,” you think hot dogs, potato salad and flash-bang grenades!

“Before the Shore” (11 p.m., MTV). Audition tapes and other previously unseen footage from “Jersey Shore.” Otherwise known as future DVD extras.

Skip it

“Nip/Tuck” (10 p.m., FX). Melanie Griffith guest-stars as Kimber’s mother. Holy crap, is Melanie Griffith THAT old?
