I  have always enjoyed American Idol, but this season, I’m over it!  It’s not just that Casey Abrams was voted out too early, it’s that the show is one long commercial for various things or people.  Steven Tyler has recently published his autobiography and plugged it on the show.  Jennifer Lopez publicized her new single and video.  The singers performed a car commercial!  Big money and  influential corporations have stripped American Idol of its initial grit, and that leaves the American voters with two lackluster choices between Scotty and Lauren.   It’s like choosing between vanilla pudding and lemon Jello–who cares?  Either one will do, I guess. 

Lauren will win tonight–she wore such a sparkily dress and sang to her mom:  a winning combo.
