You may have heard by now that Conan O’Brien is embarking on a comedy/musical tour in 30 cities. But really, if you’re just hearing about it now, you’re probably already too late to buy tickets.

The two shows at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco (April 22 and 23) sold out right away Thursday. I logged onto Ticketmaster in the morning — when seats were still available — but the prices scared me away. $60 a pop for balcony seats, plus a $15 per ticket convenience charge? Ehhh, no thanks.

As of Thursday night, tickets were still available for the May 5 show at the San Jose Events Center. But it’s the same price ($60 + $15), and you’d better act fast.

Pretty much every other venue is sold out — even Enoch, Alberta (apparently it’s a best online casino outside Edmonton). But there’s always a possibility of more shows being added, so if you missed out this time, keep an eye out. There are already a bunch of tickets for the SF shows for sale on Craigslist, including a pair for a bargain $150 each(!). Geez, and I wonder why I don’t see more live shows. . . .

BTW, Conan’s not getting paid for the tour; he’s doing it mostly to provide a paycheck for his fired staff (at least 40 have been hired by the tour) and to keep his name in the public eye while he serves his contract-mandated banishment from TV.
