Watch it

BCS Championship: Alabama vs. Texas (5:30 p.m., ABC). Finally, the 34th and final bowl game of the season, and the only one that counts for anything. The Crimson Tide and Longhorns will play for the national championship (though Boise State might have something to say about that).

“Jersey Shore” (10 p.m., MTV). Come on, you might not admit it, but you secretly want to watch this. Tonight sounds like a good one: Vinny pays the price for making out with his boss/landlord’s girlfriend, and Ronnie gets into a fight.

Couch marathon

“Chuck” (starting at 5 p.m., Syfy). Just the ticket for “Chuck” lovers or those who want to catch up with what they missed before Season 3 begins next week. Syfy is running eight “greatest hits” episodes from Season 2,  including the season premiere and finale. There are worse ways to spend eight hours. Don’t forget the Subway sandwich for sustenance.

Record it

“Outlaw Amazon” (9 and 10 p.m., Discovery). Series premiere. It’s a double dose of a new series that sounds like a million others in the tried and true “Cops” tradition. But this one’s set in the Amazon jungle, so they’ll be after cocaine smugglers, poachers and illegal loggers. Could be an interesting twist.

“Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” (10 p.m., VH1). Season premiere. Mackenzie Phillips, Heidi Fleiss, Dennis Rodman, Mindy McCready and Tom Sizemore. This is going to be a trainwreck. Only slightly more self-destructive.

Skip it

Everything else on the networks’ primetime lineup — nothing but reruns. (Though still, reruns of “Parks and Recreation,” “The Office” and “30 Rock” aren’t bad options.)
