FX announced its midseason schedule on Tuesday. Here are the highlights:

“Nip/Tuck” will begin its final season in Jan. 6, and end March 3. The current season is still running, so no one will have time to miss it in its brief winter hiatus. Though really, is anyone still watching this? It’s been careening into oblivion faster than Kimber has for the past few seasons.

“Archer” will debut (err, return, since it debuted in September) on Jan. 14. This animated spy spoof is one to keep an eye on. The premiere was extremely funny and extremely twisted. It’s very much in the “Venture Bros.” vein, and that’s not a bad thing.

“Damages” returns for a third season on Jan. 25. I’m a little wary, after the way Season 2 flew off the rails. But I’ll probably give it a chance, especially considering the amazing supporting cast: Martin Short, Lily Tomlin, Campbell Scott, Keith Carradine and Sarah Wynter. And of course, Ted Danson is back as scuzzy Arthur Frobisher. Danson, by the way, is having a brilliant late-career renaissance with his roles on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Damages” and “Bored to Death.”

“Justified,” the Timothy Olyphany cop drama formerly called “Lawman,” will debut in March. This series based on an Elmore Leonard short story should be a good one. And blame Steven Seagal for forcing the name change — his “Lawman” series on A&E beat them to the punch.

“Louie,” a comedy starring Louis C.K. will debut in the nebulous “spring.” Here’s hoping it’s better than his disastrous HBO series, “Lucky Louie.” He’s been great in a guest role on “Parks and Recreation” this season. I hope this series won’t mess that up.
