Watch it

“V” (8 p.m., ABC). Last week’s series premiere wasn’t perfect, but it was interesting enough to get me to watch again. The plot is the same as the original ’80s miniseries – alien “Visitors” come to Earth promising peace and happiness, but have a far more nefarious agenda. And it’s up to a handful of humans to lead the resistance. The series has potential. If they can keep up the paranoid, who-can-you-trust mood, it could be a keeper. I’m a bit wary that it’s on at 8 p.m. though – this is a series that calls for some darkness, stuff more appropriate for 9 or 1o p.m. We shall see . . .

“Sons of Anarchy” (10 p.m., FX). ATF Agent Stahl (Ally Walker) is back in town investigating SAMCRO. She’s sooo good at being unlikable, even though if the tables were turned and this was a cop show, she’d be the hero. Funny how that works. Meanwhile, Gemma has to do something to mend the rift between Jax and Clay. Hmmm, what could she tell them that would put them on the same side against a common enemy? Maybe reveal the secret of a certain assault that’s been haunting her all season?

Record it

“Chopped” (10 p.m., Food Network). Graham crackers and rice crispies are among the surprise ingredients.

“Lopez Tonight” (11 p.m., TBS). The second episode of the new talk show from veteran comedian George Lopez. I liked him in his standup days in the ’90s, and it might be a decent addition to the late-night lineup. Tonight’s guests are Jamie Foxx and Marc Anthony.

Skip it

“Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew” (10 p.m., VH1). Wow. Just when you thought VH1 couldn’t get any more scuzzy.
