Watch it

“Law & Order” (8 p.m., NBC).  In a little bit of twisted wish fulfillment for millions of viewers, a reality TV mega mom is found dead, and her beleaguered hubby is a suspect. Better yet, the always awesome Jim Gaffigan plays the husband. Maybe he killed her with a Hot Pocket.

“20/20” (10 p.m., ABC). A look back at the Ramon Salcido murder spree that shook Sonoma County 20 years ago, with a profile of his surviving daughter, Carmina. You can also get a sneak peek into our newsroom; they shot some interviews here.

Record it

“Colossal Construction” (8 p.m., Science Channel). A look at how San Francisco’s new and improved Academy of Sciences was built. The whole building is an architectural wonder, especially the green roof, so this should be pretty interesting.

Catch a score

Phillies at Dodgers (1 p.m., TBS). Game 2 of the NLCS. With Pedro Martinez and Vicente Padilla on the mound, how much you wanna bet someone gets plunked?

Angels at Yankees (4:30 p.m., Fox). Game 1 of the ALCS. There’s a pretty good chance this game will get rained out, so don’t plan your evening around it.

High school football: Bellarmine vs. Serra (7 p.m., CSN-CA). A WCAL matchup of two of my high school’s biggest rivals. I hope they both lose.

Skip it

“Secrets of the Lost Symbol” (9 p.m., NBC). In a schlockumentary more appropriate to the History Channel’s embarrassing new lineup, Matt Lauer interviews author Dan Brown about the Freemasons’ mysterious ways and their influence on the Founding Fathers. In a total coincidence, Brown has a new book out, “The Lost Symbol,” that’s about the Freemasons’ mysterious ways and their influence on the Founding Fathers. Yep, it’s basically an hourlong primetime infomercial. Can NBC get any stupider?
