Watch it

“FlashForward” (8 p.m., ABC). More hooks than a Fountains of Wayne album. I’m in for the duration. Tonight, FBI guys Mark and Demetri go to Utah to track down a suspect in the mass blackout, while Olivia meets the man of her dreams. No, literally – the guy in her vision. He’s the father of the kid she saved. Hmmm, the plot thickens….

“The Office” (9 p.m., NBC). Dwight reacts badly to Jim’s promotion. And corporate announces everyone won’t be getting raises. Wait, is this a fictional sitcom or my workplace?

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (10 p.m., FX). The gang makes some tough layoffs, and Charlie becomes a crab person. Hilarity ensues.

Drop the puck, eh!

Sharks vs. Avalanche (7 p.m., Versus). Wow, hockey season’s here already? Don’t worry, it’ll last until June, so you don’t have to start paying attention until about April. The Sharks added scorer Dany Heatley in the offseason in an effort to tease fans once again before inevitably collapsing in the playoffs. And here’s a hint: Don’t ask Heatley to give you a ride home.

Record it

“Survivor: Samoa” (8 p.m., CBS). Jaison (wow, who taught him how to spell that?) tries to form an alliance against the evil Russell H. Just a guess: It fails. Too bad. I don’t even watch the show and already I’m sick of Russell.

“Parks and Recreation” (8:30 p.m., NBC). OK, for the past two weeks this has been NBC’s funniest Thursday-night series. Who could’ve predicted that? And can it make it three in a row? Considering Leslie judges the Miss Pawnee beauty pageant tonight, I think the chances are good.

“Community” (9:30 p.m., NBC). I’m still wanting to like this more than I actually do. Maybe tonight is the night it’s finally funny. John Michael Higgins (attorney Wayne Jarvis in “Arrested Development” and the judge in “Harvey Birdman”) guest-stars as a weird teacher in Jeff’s new class. That’s a start.

Skip it

“National Parks” (8 p.m., PBS). It’s starting to bore me. Tonight the focus is the Civilian Conservation Corps, and the creation of the Everglades National Park. Educational? Sure. But “FlashForward” will be a lot more exciting.

“SNL: Weekend Update” (8 p.m., NBC). I’ve forgotten to mention this for the past couple of weeks, but that’s OK, no one’s watching it anyway. If you want mock news, just cut to the chase and go to “The Daily Show.”
