Watch it

“Sons of Anarchy” (10 p.m., FX).Tig (the serial-killer-looking one) gets captured by bounty hunters, and Jax and Clay are at odds over what to do next.

Record it

“National Parks” (8 p.m., PBS). Tonight’s focus: the Grand Canyon.

“Chopped” (10 p.m., Food Network). The all-star finale, as the four champion chefs square off. And judge Alex will still make a face like someone just forced her to drink spoiled milk.

Compare and contrast

Who’d win in a fight, sharks or dragons? Find out tonight when “Shark Tank” (8 p.m., ABC) and “Dragon’s Den” (9 p.m., BBC America) air. They’re basically the same venture-capital reality show, just the American and British versions of the original Japanese series. In both, contestants who have (or think they have) potential million-dollar business ideas try to win funding from a hardnosed panel of wealthy investors. I’ve only seen the British version, and it’s not bad. It’s actually more dramatic than you might think, as the idea-men (and women) are forced to decide whether to accept much-needed financial backing in exchange for divesting control of their company. It’s pretty high-stakes stuff. I’m assuming the American version is dumbed-down and nowhere near as good, because that’s what Hollywood does to British shows. But tonight’s a good opportunity to compare the two and see for yourself.

Skip it

“The Hills” (10 p.m., MTV). Season premiere. Don’t do it. Hasn’t your life been happier these past few months without a weekly dose of Speidi? Don’t do this to yourself, it’s not worth it. Even (especially) with Kristin taking center stage.

“The City” (10:30 p.m., MTV). Season premiere. Whitney’s boring.
