“How I Met Your Mother” (8 p.m., CBS). Marshall joins Barney on a dude’s night out (sadly, it’s not Tuxedo Night). And something boring happens with Ted.

“Gossip Girl” (9 p.m., The CW). Blair’s a loser, Vanessa starts to realize her creepy stalker boyfriend is a creepy stalker, and Georgina and Dan, together again. Ruh-roh.

“The National Parks” (8 p.m., PBS). It’s boring but good for you. Tonight’s focus: Yellowstone.

“Trauma” (9 p.m., NBC). Series premiere. Not because it’s good, because it’s gonna be awful and wholly unoriginal. But it’s shot in San Francisco, so you can play a game where you point out all the locations you recognize in the background. And howl in outrage for all the things they’ll get wrong that only a local would know. (“They’re taking Market at rush hour? No way!”)

“Durham County” (10 p.m., Ion). Mike starts to suspect Ray in the serial killings. ‘Bout time.

“Top Gear” (8 p.m., BBC America). Ehhh, it’s a clip show. I hate clip shows. Of course, if you haven’t seen any of Season 7, it’d probably be a nice overview.

“County Jail” (9 p.m., Discovery). Series premiere. Do we really need another docu-series about prisons? Seriously?
