In the least surprising news of the year, word came out Tuesday that Heather Locklear will be joining the cast of the new “Melrose Place” to reprise her role as Amanda Woodward. That took all of, what, two episodes?

That’s great news for the show, which is just terrible. This can’t help but improve it. And I’ve gotta say, even pushing 50, Heather Locklear is still gettin’ it done. Here’s to a new generation of miniskirts, dark roots and catfights. Ooooh, and don’t forget the scheming!

The only better casting coup would have been a cross-promotion with “Entourage” to get Johnny Drama a guest spot. I’d totally tune in for that.
