Not much on tonight if you’re not a sports fan. Go out and do something fun instead. But if you’re stuck at home . . .

Watch it

Giants vs.  Dodgers (7 p.m., Ch. 3). The latest version of the biggest series of the season. But this time I mean it. The Giants need to win at least two of three to have a fighting chance of making the playoffs.

Boise State vs. Fresno State (6 p.m., ESPN). Boise State has national title hopes, and the Bulldogs are tough to beat at home. Is there an upset brewing in the stale Fresno air?

Need a few laughs? Check out the Joel McHale Hour on E. They have “The Soup” at 10 p.m., where host McHale skewers pop culture, and after that is an encore performance of  the series premiere of “Community,” in case you missed its NBC debut on Thursday. Nice bit of cross-network promotion there by the NBC Universal media empire.

Record it

“The Office” (midnight, Cartoon Network). Catch up with David Brent and the gang from Slough in the first episode of the original British series.

“Eureka” (9 p.m., Syfy). In the season’s penultimate episode, the town is threatened by a magnetic disturbance. I’m not a regular watcher, but when I do manage to catch and episode, this quirky sci-fi comedy always manages to be fun.

“Psych” (10 p.m., USA). I could say the same about this show. Light, breezy and disposable. Tonight the guys try to help a client who’s been cursed. Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder on “Heroes”) guest-stars.

“Chefs vs. City” (10 p.m., Food Network). Aaron and Chris hit New Orleans and compete against a couple of hometown chefs in challenges featuring alligators, crawfish, crabs and bugs. Yum. But I’m getting tired of the eat-this-insanely-spicey-dish challenges every week.

Skip it

“Crash” (10 p.m., Starz). Season premiere. The movie was well-done but preachy and not particularly original. The series is more of the same, only less compelling. Eric Roberts joins the cast this season. You’d hope between him and Dennis Hopper the series will show real improvement, but I don’t care enough to watch and find out.
