Watch it

“Gossip Girl” (9 p.m., The CW). Season premiere. My biggest guilty pleasure. Over the top and overdramatic,  but it has razor-sharp, snarky writing and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Which is what distinguishes itself from pretty much every other teen soap.

Chargers vs. Raiders (7:15 p.m., ESPN). Hey, a Raiders home game that’s not blacked out! Of course, they might be so bad that fans will wish they were blacked out. I love watching the Raiders implode in new and creative ways.

“Durham County” (10 p.m., Ion). The plot thickens as the teacher’s body is found.

“Daily Show” and “Colbert Report” (11 and 11:30 p.m., Comedy Central). New episodes, finally, after both shows took a three-week vacation.

Record it

“No Reservations” (10 p.m., Travel Channel). Tony visits Sardinia. How’s that for obscure?

“Top Gear” (8 p.m., BBC America). It’s a race across Europe, with Jeremy driving a Bugati supercar and Richard and James flying a small plane. These wacky races never fail to be brilliant.

Skip it

“The Jay Leno Show” (10 p.m., NBC). Series premiere. Is it the worst network TV idea since reality shows started? Yeah, probably. But I’ll be skipping it just because it’ll be boring.
