Watch it

“Survivor: Redemption Island” (8 p.m., CBS). I’m telling ya, this season is shaping up to be surprisingly good. Tonight we get the first Redemption Island challenge, as Francesca and Matt square off.

“Modern Family” (9 p.m., ABC). Haley and Alex are fighting, and Claire and Phil react to it in very different ways. Meanwhile, Gloria is spooked when Jay starts checking out burial plots.

“Top Chef All-Stars” (10 p.m., Bravo). The remaining five cheftestants cook in a boat, then prepare dishes on Ellis Island. I’m kinda bummed at how some of the best chefs have been eliminated in the past weeks. Honestly, only Richard feels worthy of winning. It’s been a great season, it’d be a shame if it ended on an anticlimactic note. DVR alert: This is running an absurd 76 minutes.

Record it

“American Idol” (8 p.m., Fox). The 12 female semifinalists perform.

“America’s Next Top Model” (8 p.m., The CW). The models get acting tips, then pose for shoots while covered in bees. Yes, bees. Because Tyra really is that crazy.

“Justified” (10 p.m., FX). Rachel’s criminal brother-in-law goes on the lam, Boyd considers a dangerous offer and Gary tries to win Winona back. And Raylan will smack ’em all around.

Skip it

“Traffic Light” (9:30 p.m., Fox) and “Mr. Sunshine” (9:30 p.m., ABC) have both been unmemorable, and you’ll miss nothing in your life by missing either one.
