Watch it

Academy Awards (5:30 p.m., ABC). I think I’ve only seen three contenders, so I don’t care much this year. But it’s an event that everyone will be talking about tomorrow, so I’m sure I’ll tune in anyway. James Franco and Anne Hathaway host.

“Amazing Race: Unfinished Business” (8 p.m., CBS). OK, this is just stupid. Not only was there no elimination in last week’s premiere (always lame), tonight’s Part 2 goes up against the Oscars. It’s like CBS is trying to drive viewers away. Anyway, tonight the racers head to the Australian Outback, while Jet & Cord still try to figure out the flag code.

Record it

“Brick City” (8 p.m., Sundance). There’s public outrage over a police shooting, Jiwe gets ready for his attempted-murder trial and the mayor kicks off his reelection campaign.

Skip it

“Live from the Red Carpet” (3 p.m., E). There are few things stupider in this world than red-carpet interviews before awards shows. If you do watch (and I probably will), have some cocktails on hand to dim the pain (I definitely will).
