SUNDAY It’s back! As “Game of Thrones” (9 p.m., HBO) kicks off its third season, Daenerys continues her quest for a ship, and Jon Snow finally meets the legendary Mance Ryder. CBS renews 18 shows

This is the time of year when many series start signing off for the season, with fans not knowing if it will be their last, as the networks prepare for upfronts in mid-May, when new fall schedules are unveiled. Dive into midseason

It’s midseason, so that means the networks have to plug some holes created by shows old (goodbye, “Gossip Girl” and “Private Practice”) and new (so long, “Made in Jersey” and “Animal Practice”). Of course, there are the obligatory cop and doctor shows, as well as new dating and food competitions (because TV is lacking in those?). What’s ahead for CW, ABC and CBS?

This week, the CW, ABC and CBS announced their fall lineups. A quick looks and what’s coming…and what’s going.
