Scorpion is preposterous, but fun

Among the shows I was looking forward to this new season was Scorpion, the new drama on CBS at 9pm on Mondays. Supposedly based on a true story, and that claim appears more than a little dodgy, Scorpion sets itself apart with not only likeable actors in good roles, but crucially without any bad ones. What’s on this summer?

What I’m most looking forward to as the summer season kicks in to high gear:  “Breaking Bad” and “Burn Notice” start their final seasons, “True Blood” returns, and the Stephen King miniseries “Under the Dome” premieres. Also, on USA, fans get to see what happens after The Kiss on both “Covert Affairs” and “Suits.” There is also the chance to watch the final episodes of several canceled shows as the networks burn off episodes before starting fresh in fall. It’s not quite mid-season, all those bright and shiny new shows have debuted, some of your old favorites are getting ready to take a holiday break, and the election is finally over. While raising their broods, quintessential moms Carol Brady, Marion Cunningham and June Cleaver remained upbeat, sometimes crossing over into downright perky.
