Today marks the fiftieth anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination; The National Geographic Channel is honoring this milestone by showing Killing Kennedy at 4:00 PM, 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Based on the best-selling book of the same name by Bill O’Reilly this two hour TV event features Rob Lowe as the president and Will Rothhaar as Lee Harvey Oswald. I’ve read O’Reilly’s book a couple times and find it both entertaining and informative. The film mimics the style of the book in that it tells the stories of both Kennedy and Oswald in parallel until they converge in Dallas. If you haven’t done anything else to mark the anniversary of this national tragedy, taking the time to watch this film and thinking of what might have been may be a good way of doing that.
