Tonight at 8:00 PM local PBS member station KQED will be showing the 1966 film Hawaii (which is based on the James Michener novel of the same name) featuring Max von Sydow and Julie Andrews as missionaries who bring Christianity to Hawaii in the 1820s.  Though the subject matter (Christianizing indigenous peoples) may be a bit controversial these days, the film is well written, directed and acted.   If you happen to be home tonight give this one a try.  Click the image below to be taken to the movie’s IMDB page.
