Networks are busy poring through the ratings, shuffling their schedules and shifting attention to midseason. Some news of note this week:

It was a good week for a few freshman dramas. Two CBS shows got picked up for a full season: the modern day take on Sherlock Holmes “Elementary” and period cop-mob drama “Vegas.” Fans of the CW’s “Arrow” also can take heart; the superhero drama will be sticking around for a full season.

“X-Factor” will be returning next year for a third season, but no word yet on whether new, high-profile coaches Demi Lovato and Britney Spears will be returning.

Kate Walsh of “Private Practice” had already announced she was leaving the show after 13 episodes. Well, it looks like the show will be going with her. “Private Practice” will end its run early next year.
