Not every day is represented this week, so take some time to unclog that DVR.

 SUNDAY

The big event tonight will be “The Grammy Awards” (8 p.m., CBS). The show is pulling together a last-minute tribute to one of their own, Whitney Houston, who died Saturday. Other anticipated big moments: Adele will perform for the first time since having vocal cord surgery.

If you’re less into music and more into zombies, AMC’s critically acclaimed “The Walking Dead” returns tonight. Based on a graphic novel, AMC thought it would thus be a perfect lead-in for its new reality show, Kevin Smith’s “Comic Book Men.” (Yet another occupation demystified thanks to reality TV.)

 TUESDAY

Another series returning this week is “Cougar Town” (8:30 p.m., ABC). The funny sitcom with the much-maligned title stars former “Friend” Courtney Cox, whose new cul-de-sac buddies share their neuroses and witty barbs over really big glasses of wine.

If you get the National Geographic Channel, check out “Doomsday Preppers.” Folks stockpile guns, food and seeds, or train for hours a day, all to be ready for Doomsday, whether it be brought about by an energy crisis, civil unrest or the poles switching position. (What, no zombies? Haven’t they seen “The Walking Dead”?) After the “preppers” share their plans for survival, experts assess if they  would indeed be able to survive if their fears came to pass.

 WEDNESDAY

“Survivor: One World” (8 p.m., CBS). The show that kicked off the whole reality show craze returns with all 18 castaways setting up camp on the same Samoan shore. In an attempt to mix it up even more, the tribes will pit men against women. I’d include a clip, but we all know how this one goes by now, right?
