Watch it

“An Idiot Abroad” (7 p.m., Travel). In the season finale, Karl returns home and Ricky and Stephen try to find out if he learned anything in his travels. Expect many clips and even more insults.

“Runnin Rebels of UNLV” (9:30 p.m., HBO). A documentary look back at the bad boys of college basketball in the 1980s and 90s. Man, I loved those teams. Stacey Augmon, Larry Johnson, Anderson Hunt . . . those were fun games to watch.

Record it

“Bobby’s Ireland” (9 p.m., Food Network). Celebrity chef Bobby Flay tours Ireland’s culinary scene, from locavore dishes in County Cork to haute cuisine in Dublin. I can tell you firsthand, Irish chefs are excellent at preparing potatoes about eight different ways. (I know that sounds like a knock, but seriously, the potatoes there are really good!)

Ron White’s Comedy Salute to the Troops (9 p.m., CMT). A big standup comedy special starring Ron White, Lewis Black and Kathleen Madigan, who are all funny. Oh, and Rascal Flatts also appear. Just fast-forward when they do.

Games of the day

The obvious choice is college basketball. Tomorrow is Selection Sunday, and most of the major conferences are having their semifinals or finals today. The morning and early afternoon have Big 10, SEC and ACC semifinal games on CBS, ABC and ESPN, respectively. The Pac-10 championship is at 3 p.m. on CBS, and the Big 12 championship is at 3 p.m. on ESPN, followed by the Big East championship at 6. The WAC championship wraps things up at 7 on ESPN2.

Giants vs. Dodgers (1 p.m., CSN-BA). Or get reacquainted with Kruk & Kuip with a leisurely spring training game from lovely Scottsdale.

Marathon time

“Band of Brothers” (starting at 12:15 p.m., Spike). The greatest TV miniseries/WWII movie of all time gets another airing. This’ll go till past 3 a.m. Sunday, so settle into a good butt groove on the couch. I can never resist checking it out for a little bit whenever it airs.

Skip it and watch the highlights online tomorrow

“Saturday Night Live” (11:30 p.m., NBC). Zach Galifianakis hosts, so you’d think it’d be funny. I’m still dubious. The musical guest is Jessie J, and apparently I’m too old and unhip to have any idea who he or she is.

Skip it

“Rascal Flatts: Nothing Like This” (9 p.m. ABC). Because I hate Rascal Flatts and everything they stand for. Oh, and Justin Bieber will make an appearance.

“Battle of Los Angeles” (9 p.m., Syfy). You might think this is a cheap ripoff of the movie that opened yesterday, but no, this is way different. It’s about an alien invasion of L.A., and two soldiers have to battle the odds and save humanity. See? Totally different. And this one has an “of” in its title, the movie only has a colon. Whole different thing.
