Watch it

“Chuck” (8 p.m., NBC). Chuck teams up with Morgan to take down super-evil bad guy Volkoff (Timothy Dalton), and Sarah tries to rescue Chuck’s mom (Linda Hamilton) as the season-long storyline hits its climax.

“American Experience: The Greely Expedition” (10 p.m., PBS). A documentary look at an disastrous 1881 expedition to the North Pole. The exploration ship sunk in the Arctic, the crew mutinied and many starved while others were forced into cannibalism. Three long years later, only six survivors emerged to tell the tale. Sounds juicy.

Record it

“Human Target” (8 p.m., Fox). A new episode on a special night. Chance has to protect a guy whose wife is a Russian spy trying to kill him.

“Gossip Girl” (9 p.m., The CW). Blair and Dan get internships at — uh oh — the same fashion magazine. Meanwhile, has Chuck met his match in the one-two punch of Russell and Raina Thorpe?

Skip it

“The Bachelor” (8 p.m., ABC). So bachelorette Emily’s NASCAR racer boyfriend (and baby daddy) died in a small-plane crash years ago. So first the producers sent her on a small-plane ride, and now this week they make her drive laps on a NASCAR track in Las Vegas. Dude, that’s kinda messed up.

“Skins” (10 p.m., MTV). Ratings have plummeted, advertisers are fleeing and cancellation is rumored to be looming.  But it’s not the conservative backlash that’s really dooming the series, it’s the poor quality. It’s nowhere near as provocative or compelling as the original UK series, and instead feels more like a very special episode of “DeGrassi.” FYI, tonight’s episode is the one that supposedly raised child porn alarms at the MTV corporate offices because it shows a 17-year-old butt. Wow, that’s it? I’d like to see the Parents Television Council watch an uncut British episode; it might expose them to something that’s actually risque and cause their brains to implode.
