Watch it

“Modern Family” (9 p.m., ABC). Mary Lynn Rajskub (“24”) is back as Mitchell’s old girlfriend, and Gloria’s desperate attempts to befriend another couple annoys Jay.

“Cougar Town” (9:30 p.m., ABC). The gang fights over whether men or women make the best friends, and of course the debate is put into practice when Jules lets Laurie stay with her and Grayson helps out Bobby despite Bobby’s jealousy toward him. And then they all drink wine.

“Top Chef All-Stars” (10 p.m., Bravo). The cheftestants head to the water and cook up fish dishes. Sorry Jamie, scallops don’t count.

Record it

“Human Target” (8 and 9 p.m., Fox). Hmmm, another week with back-to-back episodes. Feels like Fox is trying to burn off episodes. That doesn’t bode well, unless they’re just trying to clear the decks for “American Idol.” Tonight, Ilsa’s sister gets taken hostage at the opera, then Guerrero is framed for a friend’s murder and jailed.

“MythBusters: Demolition Derby” (9 p.m., Discovery). Part 2 of a special that puts automotive myths to the test.

“American Masters” (10 p.m., PBS). “Jeff Bridges: The Dude Abides,” a two-hour profile of the actor. He’s good, so this should be too.

Skip it

“Off the Map” (10 p.m., ABC). Series premiere. A new medical drama about doctors working in a remote South American village. Basically “Grey’s Anatomy” in the jungle, with McMalaria instead of McDreamy. On the bright side, it co-stars Caroline Dhavernas from “Wonderfalls.”
