Last week I mentioned how, with most networks taking a new year’s timeout, this is a good time to catch up with old series. This week, Ovation (good luck finding it on your cable menu) is airing one of the best short-lived series in recent memory, Joss Whedon’s space Western “Firefly.”

The weeklong marathon started last night (oops, sorry), with the first two episodes. Three episodes will air tonight through Friday, starting at 5 p.m., with the night’s cycle repeated at 8 p.m. And if you missed Monday’s two episodes, a full-series marathon will air Saturday starting at 9 a.m. and lasting until midnight.
