The Marathons

Remember “V”? It’ll be returning to ABC on Monday, so they’re running a three-episode mini-marathon to refresh your memory, starting at 8 p.m. All I remember is that I didn’t bother watching. Over on Discovery, a day of “MythBusters” starts at 9 a.m. and runs until the wee hours of Sunday morning. AMC nyuks it up with a full day of “The Three Stooges,” starting at 4 a.m. and running until early Sunday morning. Speaking of classic TV, Syfy is airing “The Twilight Zone” from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday. Logo is doing a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” extravaganza from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. Monday. And IFC has 24 hours of “The Larry Sanders Show” starting at 3 a.m.

The best games

NHL Winter Classic: Penguins vs. Capitals (10 a.m., NBC). The annual outdoor game is always cool. But this one’s in danger of being warmed out — the forecast in Pittsburgh is for rain and temperatures in the 50s, which would delay the game. If it’s delayed, it might be played later in the day, or Sunday morning, or even get moved indoors and played during the week. That would really throw HBO’s “24-7: Penguins-Capitals” into a tizzy.

Outback Bowl: Penn State vs. Florida (10 a.m., ABC). The Gators’ Urban Meyer will coach his final game against the legendary Joe Paterno.

Capital One Bowl: Alabama vs. Michigan State (10 a.m., ESPN). This should be one of the best bowls of the season. Both schools were BCS contenders for much of the season.

Gator Bowl: Michigan vs. Mississippi State (10:30 p.m., ESPN2). Meh, kinda boring matchup. Michigan QB Denard Robinson is fun to watch though.

Rose Bowl: TCU vs. Wisconsin (2 p.m., ESPN). The granddaddy of them all. TCU is looking for respect, Wisconsin is looking to steamroll them. This could be interesting.

NBA: Warriors vs. Heat (4:30 p.m., CSN-BA). Let’s see, the Dubs are playing the second of back-to-back road games, against one of the hottest teams in the league . . . . this is gonna get ugly.

Fiesta Bowl: UConn vs. Oklahoma (5:30 p.m., ESPN). This would be a great college basketball matchup. Too bad this is football. If Oklahoma doesn’t win this by about 45 points, it’ll be shocking.

NHL: Sharks vs. Kings (6 p.m., CSN-CA). This looks really appealing if the Fiesta Bowl is the alternative.

And the only new show

“Primeval” (9 p.m., BBC America). Season premiere. This sci-fi series about time-traveling dinosaurs is kinda cheesy fun. Tonight, after surviving a year in the dinosaur era, Abby and Connor time-travel back to the present day, and find a whole new ARC team in place.

And no, I didn’t forget about the Rose Parade. I just hate watching parades on TV. If you’re a fan, I’m sure you’ll find it.
