Watch it

“Human Target” (8 p.m., Fox). It’s not going to win any Emmys anytime soon, but it’s right up there with “Burn Notice” as the best action show on TV. Sometimes all you need is to kick back, turn off the brain and watch something explode. And this does the job. Tonight we learn the backstory of Ames, the hot thief, as Chance protects a woman whose husband was a target of his, back in Chance’s assassin days.

“Modern Family” (9 p.m., ABC). A visit by Cameron’s crazy mother puts Mitchell on edge, and Phil is broken up after Haley breaks up with dimwit Dylan.

“Cougar Town” (9:30 p.m., ABC). Jules makes a romantic Thanksgiving dinner in an effort to get Grayson to say he loves her. Um, yeah, because Turkey Day is the most romantic holiday of the year.

“Terriers” (10 p.m., FX). Hank and Britt’s investigation into the big Ocean Beach development conspiracy puts pretty much everyone in danger. Only one episode left after this one — maybe ever. (Sigh.)

Record it

“MythBusters” (9 p.m., Discovery). The guys investigate another how-to-escape-from-an-underwater-car myth. Those are always fun.

Skip it

“Survivor: Nicaragua” (8 p.m., CBS). The show’s taking Thanksgiving week off and giving us a clip show from this season, with highlights and previously unseen footage. Here’s a hint: The unseen footage ended up on the editing room floor for a reason. Don’t waste your time.
