Watch it

Giants vs. Braves (4:37 p.m., TBS). Game 4 from Atlanta. The Giants can clinch the series with a win. And my aorta may explode if this game is anywhere near as tense as the first three have been.

“Chuck” (8 p.m., NBC). Chuck and Sarah go on a trip to Latin America with Ellie and Awesome where they meet  President Goya (Armand Assante), whose life Awesome saved last season. But danger lurks. I’ve been kinda disappointed by this season so far. It’s lacking the edge it picked up last season.

“Carlos” (9 p.m., Sundance). The first of a three-part miniseries about the notorious terrorist/assassin Carlos the Jackal. Edgar Ramirez (from, appropriately enough, “The Bourne Ultimatum”) stars. The guy’s one of the more fascinating characters of the 1970s, and this could be pretty interesting, even though it’s looooong. Like, Steven Soderbergh’s “Che” long.

Record it

“How I Met Your Mother” (8 p.m., CBS). Robin tries to prove she’s a real New Yorker by racing the gang to a restaurant.

“The Event” (9 p.m., NBC). The White House interrogates Sophia hoping to prevent a biological threat, and Hal Holbrook pulls a role reversal playing a Deep Throat-type source.

“Gossip Girl” (9 p.m., The CW). Blair competes with another student to become a professor’s assistant. Huh, isn’t that what grad students are for? And Serena is hurt by a rumor posted on Gossip Girl. Because she never learns.

Catch a score

Vikings vs. Jets (5:30 p.m., ESPN). Worth watching just to see how/if the announcers treat Brett Favre’s latest little scandal.

Skip it

“Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (11:35 p.m.). Tool alert: Guests Jay Mohr, Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.
