Watch it

“Survivor: Nicaragua” (8 p.m., CBS). Season premiere. Call it “Survivor: Old vs. Young.” The 21st season splits the castaways into two tribes comprised of those 40 and over and those 30 and younger. Former Dallas Cowboys coach and current Fox football analyst Jimmy Johnson is the marquee cast member this season. Let’s see how his famous hair holds up in the jungle.

“Top Chef” (10 p.m., Bravo). It’s the season finale from Singapore. But will one finalist’s illness ruin his chances? That might inject a little drama into what has been a lackluster season.

Record it

“America’s Next Top Model” (8 p.m., The CW). The tall, gangly girls move into their Venice Beach house and do a photo shoot somehow related to teen bullying. I’m predicting tearful stories of how the mean, pretty girls never accepted them back in high school. Diane von Furstenberg is a guest judge. Hey, even I’ve heard of her.

“Terriers” (10 p.m., FX). I loved last week’s series premiere, it had a really appealing blend of breezy comedy and dark mystery. Let’s see if they can keep it up. (I’m betting they can). Tonight the guys go bounty hunting to scrounge up some easy cash. Only it turns out to be not so easy.

“Top Chef Just Desserts” (11 p.m., Bravo). Series premiere. A new spinoff competition featuring pastry chefs. Gail Simmons hosts, and Hubert Keller is a judge. That might not be enough to get me to watch though. I’m kinda burned out on the “Top Chef” franchise.

Catch a score

Giants vs. Dodgers (7 p.m., CSN-BA). The Dodgers are done for this season, but can still play spoiler. Matt Cain will try to keep the Giants’ momentum going.

Skip it

“Hellcats” (9 p.m., The CW). Gimme an A! “A!” Gimme a W! “W!” Gimme an F! “F!” Gimme a U! “U!” . . . . you get the picture. It’s awful.

“Outlaw” (10 p.m., NBC). Series premiere. Jimmy Smits stars as a hard-living Supreme Court justice who quits the bench to become a defense attorney. It looks ridiculously bad. (Click here for the LA Times and the SF Chronicle reviews.)
