“Top Chef” (10 p.m., Bravo). The remaining six cheftestants serve up ballpark food. Rick Moonen guest-judges, and Amanda better go home.
“Man vs. Wild” (9 p.m., Discovery). Have you ever seen that technique Bear uses to quickly slide down a snowy slope? Well tonight you’ll see him try that, totally bite it and end up in the hospital. Luckily he’s in the Canadian Rockies, so — woo-hoo! — socialized medicine!
“Hard Knocks” (10 p.m., HBO). Somehow I’d never watched this NFL training camp docu-series before this year. But I’m really liking this season, which focuses on the Jets. Gotta love listening to head coach Rex Ryan spew profanity and scarf down junk food, and watch star cornerback Antonio Cromartie try to remember the names of his multitude of kids. Tonight features a game against the Panthers, a profile of receiver Braylon Edwards and then the team breaks camp.
“Psych” (10 p.m., USA). The guys help round up escaped inmates on a ferry. Just an idea, but it might be easier to just take them out of line as everyone gets off the ferry. It’s not like they’re going anywhere.
“Late Show with David Letterman” (11:35 p.m., CBS). Pretty Reckless perform. That’s “Gossip Girl” co-star Taylor Momsen’s band. The music isn’t as awful as it could be, but she’s such a bad-girl cliche that I don’t particularly want to give her the attention she’s so desperately crying out for.
