There’s way too much on tonight. Take your pick.

Watch it

“Rubicon” (9 p.m., AMC). Will goes to D.C. and his team has to make an important decision on their own. Meanwhile, Katherine finds a mysterious voice mail on her dead husband’s phone. And the mystery deepens. I know this show is probably way too slow for some people, but I’m really liking it.

“Mad Men” (10 p.m., AMC). Looks like a Pete-centric episode. He finds himself at some sort of personal dilemma trying to carry out Roger and Lane’s orders.

Catch a score

49ers vs. Colts (10 a.m., Ch. 44/12). The exhibition season opener. I’ll be sleeping. But if you really, really need to your Alex Smith fix, go for it. I’ll wait until the real season starts.

Record it

“Next Food Network Star” (9 p.m., Food Network). It’s the season finale, and it’s down to Aarti, Tom and Herb. Rachael Ray helps them prepare a pilot episode of their proposed shows and the winner is named. Come on, it’s got to be Aarti, doesn’t it?

“Oceans Blue” (6 p.m., Green). A close-up look at the Indian Ocean and its reefs.

“True Blood” (9 p.m., HBO). Bill delves into Sookie’s identity, and Sookie meets a new family member.

“The Great Food Truck Race” (10 p.m., Food Network). Series premiere. Seven gourmet food trucks take part in a cross-country effort to set up shop and make the most money in selected cities. Sounds pretty cool, a lot like VH1’s late, great “Bands on the Run,” but since it’s Food Network, it’ll probably be kinda lame. Oh, and the prize is a paltry $50,000.

“My Boys” (10 p.m., TBS). PJ worries that she and Bobby have lost that lovin’ feeling, and Brando hits it off with Stephanie’s sister.

“Roast of David Hasselhoff” (10 p.m., Comedy Central). The Hoff gets ripped by Hollywood’s meanest comics. I hear this one gets kinda out of hand, with Jerry Springer and Pam Anderson actually getting offended.

“HGTV Design Star” (10 p.m., HGTV). It’s the season finale, and it’s down to Casey, Emily and Michael. I guess someone has to win. Last year’s winner, Antonio, shows up to give them last-minute advice.

“Hung” (10 p.m., HBO). Ray is torn between his neighbor and a new client. I’m so far behind, I really need to catch up with this.

“Entourage” (10:30 p.m., HBO). I cracked last week and watched a couple of episodes. They weren’t great, but it’s decent mindless entertainment. Tonight, Ari and Lizzie’s battle heats up, and Drama is wary of Billy’s latest pitch.
