Padres vs. Giants (7 p.m., NBC-11). The grudge match begins. The Giants are closing in on first place, and earlier in the week pitcher Jonathan Sanchez pretty much guaranteed a sweep of first-place San Diego. Sanchez will get his chance to put his money where his mouth is; he’ll start tonight.

“Pillars of the Earth” (10 p.m., Starz). William plans to attack Kingsbridge, and Tom wants Jack and Alfred to become friends. Um, that ain’t gonna happen. They’re both too creepy.

“Eureka” (9 p.m., Syfy). The guys go camping, and there’s something mysterious going bump in the woods.
