Watch it

No “Friday Night Lights” tonight. NBC is airing some awful-looking movie made by Walmart and the Hallmark Channel (seriously) called “The Jensen Project” that sounds not quite good enough to make ABC Family or Nickelodeon. But NBC-11 is airing  the Giants-Mets game, so the movie will be on KRON (Ch. 4) locally.

“Whale Wars” (6 p.m., Animal Planet). After a few seasons, something finally happens! Tonight a Japanese harpoon ship rams the Sea Shepherds’ stealth boat and slices it in two, sparking outrage and a desperate rescue effort. This should actually be pretty dramatic, since there was a camera on board the Batman boat when it was hit.

“Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (11:35 p.m., NBC). Skip most of it and tune in for the musical act at the end: The Swell Season. That’s the indie-folk duo from the movie “Once.”

Record it

“Eureka” (9 p.m., Syfy). The group gets back to the present day, but finds the town’s a mess.

“Neistat Brothers” (9 p.m., HBO). More indie short films from the brothers. Tonight, trips to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the Super Bowl.

“Chefs vs. City” (10 p.m., Food Network). Yeah, it’ll probably be lame, but they’re in San Diego tonight so maybe they’ll get some tasty fish tacos.

“Haven” (10 p.m., Syfy). It’s “X-Files” lite. Tonight the guys investigate the strange destruction of a local bar.

Skip it

“Man, Woman, Wild” (9 p.m., Discovery). Good lord, another survival show? This has got to stop.
