“Lost” may be ending soon, but its farewell will go on, and on, and on. ABC announced Tuesday night that the series finale Sunday, May 23 will be extended another half hour. Apparently the final episode is so chock-full of awesomeness that it just can’t be edited down. So now it’ll be a two-and-a-half-hour finale airing from 9-11:30 p.m., and local news will get bumped back.

And don’t forget the two-hour retrospective preceding it at 7 p.m., and the Jimmy Kimmel wrap-up interview show at 12:05 a.m. And the night before, ABC will air the “Pop-Up” version of the two-hour series premiere. Plan your DVRing and schedules accordingly.

BTW, shooting on the finale wrapped Monday night. Producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof sent identical tweets: “We’re done. Amen.” Feel free to dissect that and read what you will into the religious significance of “amen.”
