Watch it
The pickings are slim tonight. Honestly, watch a movie instead.
“The Soup” (10 p.m., E). Hey, it’s new and it’s kinda funny. There’s not a whole lot else on tonight that can say that.
“Late Show with David Letterman” (11:35, CBS). Actually you only need to watch the last five minutes — She & Him (Zoey Deschannel and M. Ward) perform.
Record it
“Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” (9 p.m., ABC). Jamie bets he can teach 1,000 people to cook in a week. And since everyone in town resents him, he recruits a bunch of college students.
“Stargate Universe” (9 p.m., Syfy). New episodes are back. I’ve never seen it, but I’ve heard it’s not half bad.
“Spartacus: Blood & Sand” (10 p.m., Starz). More sex and violence and yadda yadda yadda.
Catch a score
A’s at Giants (7 p.m., Ch. 3). Game 2 of the exhibition Bay Bridge Series. This series is always kinda anticlimactic; I’m just anxious for the regular season to begin.
Skip it
“Miami Medical” (10 p.m., CBS). For those who think “Trauma” is a little too cerebral. This Jerry Bruckheimer machine about a hospital trauma team in Miami promises bloody carnage, lots of shouting and very little of substance.
“Merlin” (10 p.m., Syfy). Season 2 begins. Umm, why?
