It’s been a while since I’ve done this, but there’s been a lot of interesting TV news lately. Here are some of the highlights I found while reading the entire Internet:

——————————————–

Check out a new trailer for the return of Fox’s “Glee.” It’s back April 13.

And while you’re at it, check out Sue Sylvester’s hilarious rant on “sneaky gays”:

After almost 30 years on the air, “At the Movies” has been canceled. The weekly syndicated series floundered after cancer forced Roger Ebert to leave in 2006. Before the Internet days, that was my main source of movie reviews and it’s kinda sad to see it go. Good news is, it might not be gone for long. Ebert is deep in plans to relaunch a new movie review series and has a host already in mind. Though he lost the ability to speak after a series of throat cancer surgeries, he hopes to  occasionally appear on the air, most likely with his new computerized voice. As he says in his blog, “The thumbs will return.” Yay.

Here’s a shocker: The White House party crashers will be a part of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of D.C.” Come on, you didn’t think they’d let all that free publicity go to waste, did you?

——————————————–

Darryl got a promotion on “The Office” a couple of weeks ago, and Craig Robinson got one in the show’s production as well. He’ll be more of a regular character now, which is great news since he’s always hilarious and the rest of the show is getting stale.

——————————————–

The first review of David Simon’s upcoming HBO series “Treme” is in, and it sounds awesome. I’d expect nothing less from the man behind “The Wire.” And the cast is even better than I thought: in addition to “Wire” alums Wendell Pierce and Clarke Peters, there’s Steve Zahn, John Goodman, Kim Dickens (Joannie from “Deadwood”), Khandi Alexander (“News Radio”) and Melissa Leo (“Homicide”). The series debuts April 11. Here’s a trailer:

Not everyone’s a fan though: Some folks in New Orleans want the film crews out of their neighborhood.

——————————————–

Praise Jeebus, “The Hills” has been canceled! As vapid as she was, Lauren was the heart and soul of the MTV series, and last season sucked without her. No one really cares about Audrina. Well, except for that stalker guy from Petaluma. It certainly can’t help that a couple who shall not be named have hijacked the show. But soon, hopefully, we won’t have to see them anymore. Ever. The new season will start April 27, but after those 12 episodes, say goodbye.

——————————————–

Puck from “The Real World: San Francisco” and his son were hospitalized after he drove off the road near his home in San Diego. The kid’s OK, but Puck’s still in the hospital. Oh, and he was allegedly drunk.

——————————————–

Zach Braff beat ABC to the punch, declaring “Scrubs” dead. No big loss, it should have ended last season.

——————————————–

Why watch The CW’s “Life Unexpected”? How ’bout to check out the Portland music scene? Which rocks.

——————————————–

“Twin Peaks” debuted almost exactly 20 years ago. Wow. Way to make me feel old. Pop Candy has video clips of 10 unforgettable moments from TV’s weirdest series ever. Man, that mirror scene with Bob still freaks me out.
