Watch it

“Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” (8 p.m., CBS). One contestant is seriously injured (the previews suggest James) and Russell tries to target Boston Rob. God, I want Rob to be the one to lay the smackdown that weasel Russell.

“The Office” (9 p.m., NBC). Michael’s attempt to kiss up to new owner Jo Bennett (Kathy Bates) goes awry when she’s impressed by someone else. And Dwight harasses Jim, who’s back on the job after paternity leave.

“30 Rock” (9:30 p.m., NBC). Finally, a new episode. Liz meets a new dude at the dentist’s office, and Jack’s new honey, Avery (Elizabeth Banks), shakes everything up by reporting that a cable company (gasp!) is buying NBC.

“Archer” (10 p.m., FX). Archer jumps for a better-paying job at a rival spy agency, and Mallory plots to get him back. Outrageously inappropriate humor ensues.

Record it

“Parks and Recreation” (8:30 p.m., NBC). Leslie leads a task force to hunt down a possum that bit the mayor’s dog. What is it with NBC and possums? One played a starring role in this week’s “Parenthood” too.

“The Marriage Ref” (10 p.m., NBC). Sure it’s kinda lame, but there are some laughs. And tonight’s guests include Larry David and Ricky Gervais, so how could they not be funny? Of course, Madonna’s the other guest, who might drag the whole humor level down.

Early descent into madness

Get a taste of March Madness all day long, as conference tournament kick into full gear across the country. Syracuse-Georgetown kick things off (9 a.m., ESPN), Cal-Oregon (2:30 p.m., CSN-BA) is the best of the midday games, and Stanford-Arizona State hit the court late (8:30 p.m., CSN-BA). And if any of those get boring, switch over to CSN-CA or one of the ESPNs — it’s a daylong hoops orgy with the Big East, Big 10, SEC, WAC and ACC tournaments.

Skip it

“Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (11:35 p.m., NBC). Dana Carvey is the big guest. What is this, 1992? Way to keep in touch with pop culture, Jay. (Oh wait, Kim Kardashian is also a guest. So there’s another reason to skip it.)
