Watch it

Olympic hockey, gold medal game (noon, NBC). This is the big one: USA vs. Canada. And it’s live! What a concept.

“Amazing Race” (8 p.m., CBS). The teams head for Argentina, where Carol & Brandy have a meltdown and another team ends up in the ER.

“Masterpiece Classic: The 39 Steps” (9 p.m., PBS). A remake of the Hitchcock classic about an ex-spy (Rupert Penry-Jones of “MI-5”) being pursued by police and German agents for a murder he didn’t commit in the days before the outbreak of World War I. This has the potential to be pretty good. Maybe not Hitchcock good, but still . . . .

Record it

“House Hunters International” (9:30 p.m., HGTV). A Western woman looks for an apartment in Abu Dhabi. Huh. That’s why I love this show: The thought of everyday life in Abu Dhabi has literally never crossed my mind. But faced with the prospect of checking out her real estate hunt there, I’m suddenly intrigued. It’s kinda like watching the Olympics and getting hooked on biathlon.

“How to Make It in America” (10 p.m., HBO). I read one critic describe is as “not funny, but entertaining.” I agree. It’s fun but not laugh-out-loud funny. But I like it. Tonight the guys find a tailor for their denim sample.

“The Marriage Ref” (10:30 p.m., NBC).  A sneak preview of the overhyped new series that has celebrities mediating marital grievances. Could be awful, could be awfully funny. If you’re bored, it might be worth a look. Tonight’s panelists are Jerry Seinfeld, Alec Baldwin and Kelly Ripa, so you’ve probably already seen all the funny bits in the endless stream of commercials.

Don’t feel obligated

Winter Olympics (7 p.m., NBC). The closing ceremonies. Bor-ing.

Skip it

“Undercover Boss” (9 p.m., CBS). The co-owner of White Castle decides to pull a shift, but he’s too high and gets lost and stumbles into a series of comic misadventures. Or something like that.

“Seducing Cindy” (9 p.m., Fox Reality). I have no idea what this is about. But based on the title and the fact it’s on Fox Reality Channel, it’s probably the trashiest thing on TV tonight.

Daytime Olympic lineup

NBC: Noon-6 p.m. — Men’s Ice Hockey-Gold Medal Final; Men’s Cross Country-50km Gold Medal Final.

MSNBC: 6 a.m.-Noon — Figure Skating-Champions Gala; Figure Skating-The Medalists
