Watch it

Winter Olympics (8 p.m., NBC). If you only watch one night, this is probably the night to see. It’s a packed primetime lineup, with Lindsey Vonn finally getting her chance in the women’s downhill, Shaun White hoping to defend his snowboarding gold, Shani Davis attempting to repeat in the 1,000m speedskating title and short-track speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno in two preliminary  rounds.

Record it

“Human Target” (8 p.m., Fox). Chance helps a guy who wants to quit his job, but his weapons-maker employer is keeping him trapped in the building. Guess they haven’t heard about downsizing.

“Faces of America with Henry Louis Gates Jr” (8 p.m., PBS). Part 2 of this look at the ancestors of a handful of famous Americans, including Stephen Colbert, Mario Batali and Kristi Yamaguchi.

“The Inbetweeners” (9:30 p.m, BBC America). Will heads the school’s holiday dance committee, and his friends all tag along. Sounds pretty much like the reasons I attended a bunch of high school dances: “Dude, are you going to the dance?” “No.” “I’m working it, you need to come.” “Uh, OK.”

“Throwdown with Bobby Flay” (10 p.m., Food Network). Bobby challenges San Francisco’s Papillote Mexican Grill to a burrito challenge. Go Papillote!

“Leverage” (10 p.m., TNT). Part 2 of the season finale has the team trying to hustle a crooked mayor and his gunrunner buddy.

Skip it

“Real World” (10 p.m., MTV). Mike comes out of the closet to his family. Um, if they watched the show, they would have figured it out eventually anyway.
