NBC announced Thursday its plans to fill its gaps once Jay Leno is moved back to 11:35. The highlights: “Friday Night Lights” is coming back earlier than planned, and so is Guy Fieri’s new game show.

“Friday Night Lights” was planned for a summer run, but now the fourth season will premiere Friday, April 30. It’s the current title-holder of “Best Show You’re Not Watching,” and the small-town football/family drama really is one of the best series on TV. If you haven’t seen it, you have three months to catch up on DVD. Start now. Seriously, do it.

Santa Rosa celebrity chef Fieri’s new game show “Minute to Win It” was also originally scheduled for a summer run, but it’s been moved up to Sunday, March 14. The hourlong show will air eight episodes, where contestants have one minute to do simple yet nerve-wracking tasks, with the chance to win $1 million. And the tasks get more difficult as the cash stakes grow higher. Kinda like a mix of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and Jenga.

Other intriguing series coming soon to NBC: “The Marriage Ref,” (Feb. 28) a reality show created by (by not featuring) Jerry Seinfeld, where comedian Tom Papa mediates stupid marital conflicts. “Parenthood,” the re-imagined series based on the movie, debuts March 2. It’s got a great cast — Peter Krause, Lauren Graham, Craig T. Nelson, Bonnie Bedelia, Erika Christensen and Dax Shepherd — and has no excuse for not being really good. “Who Do You Think You Are?” (March 5) is a docu-series tracing the family histories of various celebrities (Lisa Kudrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Brooke Shields among others). Sounds personal and nice and all, but I really don’t care about Sarah Jessica Parker, much less her great-great grandfather.
