Watch this (TV for Sun. 11/15)

by TV

Watch it

“Amazing Race” (8 p.m., CBS). The five remaining teams head across the Baltic from Sweden to Estonia, where they play volleyball in the mud. Because that’s what Estonians do, I guess.

“Collision” (9 p.m., PBS). The first of a two-part British thriller from “Masterpiece Contemporary.” The plot revolves around a big freeway crash, and follows the investigation into how it happened and how the lives of 10 strangers become entangled. Kinda like “Crash,” without the preachiness. It’s getting really good buzz and just might end up being the best thing on TV tonight. Part 2 airs next Sunday.

Record it

“The Prisoner” (8 p.m., AMC). The eagerly anticipated miniseries remake of the ’60s cult classic, starring Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen. I want this to be good, but the reviews say it’s disappointing. Still, I think it’s worth checking out. The second episode airs at 9 p.m. tonight, and continues with two-hour blocks on Monday and Tuesday.

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” (9 p.m., HBO). Larry is vexed when a kid text-messages him, and the “Seinfeld” gang works on their reunion show.

“Next Top Chef” (9 p.m., Food Network). It’s down to the final three. I’m putting my money on Chef Mehta. He’s kinda weird, just what the show needs.

“World War II in HD” (9 p.m., History Channel). Ahhh, the network is returning to its roots, good ol’ World War II highlights. This 10-hour, five-night miniseries features restored and little-seen film clips showing everything from Nazi rallies to eyewitness combat. It’s in color, but don’t be fooled, it’s not really HD. Even the best video editors can’t work miracles on 60-year-old film stock. Still, it looks better than the scratchy old footage you’re used to seeing.

“Search for the Amazon Headshrinkers” (9 p.m., National Geographic). A modern-day explorer delves deep into the Amazon to track down a tribe of Indians who reportedly shrink heads. How cool is that?

“Cast of ‘Party of Five’: Where Are They Now?” (8 p.m., TV Guide Network). Fans (come on, you know who you are) can catch up on what the Salinger family is up to these days. Let’s see, Charlie is lost on an island, Bailey is a TV anchor talking to aliens, and Jeremy London is longingly remembering the days when he had a career. And the real-life house in Pacific Heights has been put on the market (seriously!).

Games of the day

Bengals at Steelers (10 a.m., CBS). Are the Bengals for real? We’ll find out. The Steelers are looking awfully good.

Cowboys at Packers (1:30 p.m., Fox). Ehhh, two teams I don’t really like and don’t really care about. At least the Raiders won’t be soiling our TV screens, though they’re in a winnable game against the dreadful Chiefs.

Patriots at Colts (5 p.m., NBC). A matchup of AFC powerhouses and top-notch quarterbacks. Tom Brady built his career around beating the Colts, but he might not have the team to do it this year. Should be the best game of the day.

Skip it

“Three Rivers” (9 p.m., CBS). Everytime I see a commercial for this show, I think it’s for another series. Probably because it’s  a cookie-cutter copy of every other medical show out there.
