‘Venture Bros.’ back with a vengeance
by TV

Go Team Venture!
Wow, I totally dropped the ball last week. “The Venture Bros.” – one of the most twisted, brilliant, drop-dead hilarious shows on TV – kicked off its fourth season Sunday night on Adult Swim and it passed under my radar. Um, sorry about that. But it’s not too late to catch up.
For those not in the know, “The Venture Bros.” is an animated spy/adventure spoof. It’s a lot like those old Jonny Quest cartoons from the ’60s. Only with more decapitations, pedophilia jokes and clones. Very sick, very funny and very much for grown-ups, it’s just gotta be seen to be believed.
Anyway, when we last saw our heroes, Brock was quitting the bodyguard biz after massacring all the assassins sent after him, and Henchman 21 was stuck holding poor ol’ Henchman 24’s noggin after he got blown up. (Yeah, it was a rough finale.)
Season 4 picks up with Brock looking for revenge, 21 coping with his grief, a bunch of Nazis asking Dr. Venture to clone Hitler from dog blood, and Sgt. Hatred is hired as the boys’ new bodyguard. Hilarity ensues.
Check out a repeat of the season premiere tonight at 12:30 a.m. on Cartoon Network, and a new episode at midnight Sunday. If you’ve got a twisted sense of humor, trust me, this is a show for you.
Here’s a sneak peek:
As a kid, Mike Murphy wanted to jump cars and shoot dynamite arrows like on “The Dukes of Hazzard.” Now that he’s a grown-up, he’d be satisfied with running “The Amazing Race.” Click on over for the musings, rants and occasional bits of useful news from a certified TV addict. Glad to see you’re on board with the VBs. Easily one of the funniest shows on TV!
