Watch it

“Flash Forward” (8 p.m., ABC). It’s the buzz series of the fall. The setup: Everyone in the world blacks out for two-plus minutes and has visions of themselves six months in the future; then they try to figure out what the heck just happened. And what will happen over the next six months. The complicated, mind-bending mystery will require a level of viewer dedication reserved for shows like “Lost.” I think I’m ready to commit. The reviews are in, and they’re almost entirely raves. I’m wary about shows like this, because I hate being left hanging if it’s canceled. But this one looks solid. Check it out.

“The Office” (9 p.m., NBC). Pam works on the guest list for the wedding (that just spells trouble) while Dwight and Toby spy on Darryl, who they suspect of filing a fraudulent workers’ comp claim.

“Community” (9:30 p.m., NBC). I’ll give this another chance. Especially since Ken Jeong (“The Hangover”) joins the cast as a Spanish teacher filled with rage.

Record it

“Survivor” (8 p.m., CBS). One player (ooooh, guess who!) gets kicked out of a rugby-like competition. Wonder if he has to sit in the box and feel shame. Meanwhile, evil Russell H. continues to scheme.

“Parks and Recreation” (8:30 p.m., NBC). Now with humor! After just one episode, this series is markedly improved from last season. Tonight, Leslie plans a stakeout to see who planted pot in a community garden.

Skip it

“Fringe” (9 p.m., Fox). Sorry, but I can’t handle two must-see sci-fi series on the same night. So adding “Flash Forward” means dropping “Fringe.” I don’t feel too bad — I watched last week for the first time in months, and I was lost. My doppelganger in a parallel universe will keep watching it though, so I’ll just have him bring me up to date one day. Or else catch up on DVD.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (9 p.m., ABC). Come on, you’re not still watching this, are you? Seriously?
