Must see

Titans vs. Steelers (5:30 p.m., NBC). The NFL season gets under way with defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh taking on the team with the best regular season record last year. Should be a good game.

Record

“Hung” (9:30 p.m., HBO). Catch up on the past three episodes of this great new comedy before the season finale on Sunday.

“Skins” (9 p.m., BBC America). It’s class election time. I’ve kinda given up on this British high school soap because the accents are nearly indecipherable, but if you can make it past that, it’s good trashy fun.

“Supernatural” (9 p.m., The CW). Season premiere. The final season begins with Lucifer bringing a little taste of Hell to Earth.

Skip it

“The Vampire Diaries” (8 p.m., The CW). Series premiere. It’s “Twilight” meets “Dawson’s Creek.” So it’s doubly annoying. Haven’t we already reached the point of vampire saturation in pop culture? I need a break from it, and this series looks terrible.
